Welcome to the NYSTRA website!

As NYSTRA President, I welcome you to NYSTRA, New York State's only professional organization whose primary mission is to promote and support Therapeutic Recreation.

NYSTRA is an organization of approximately 350 members who work with people of all ages in many settings and are dedicated to providing quality therapeutic recreation services that enhance the lives of our clients.

We hope you'll take the time to explore our website and experience the many opportunities Therapeutic Recreation has to offer.

It truly is an exciting time for our field. I'd like to describe to you some of the projects we are currently working on:

Licensure for Therapeutic Recreation

We are moving forward! Right now our bill is in both the NYS Senate (bill # S6252) and in the Assembly (bill # A073A). Take a look on the Senate and Assembly websites and see it for yourself. It's amazing how far we've come!

Our 15th Annual Multi-Day Conference, March 20-23, 2010, Saratoga Springs, NY

Please join us in beautiful Saratoga Springs as we celebrate our 15th conference. Lot's of innovative, informative sessions and exciting events are planned. Our conference is a great opportunity to visit with friends, network and learn what is current in our field.

Strategic Planning Initiative
